How to develop new habits for the new year

Whew… I haven’t posted anything on here in the past 3 weeks. Because it was starting to feel like my brain was going on an overdrive. So I decided to take the rest of the year off and zoned out completely.

Well, now I feel more refreshed and ready to take on the new year. *Yippee*. Burn out is no joke, I tell you. I got so mentally exhausted that every new day felt like a really long one.

I talked more about that here.

So I figured it was time to relax and realign myself with my goals. And also reread my 2021 journal as it’s my usual practice at the end of every year. This made me feel supercharged and ready to fill the new year with new memories. And also things I would like to look back to at the end of the year.

New Year New Me

This is not one of them cliché “new year new me” self motivational post because that’s just talk without action. And we all know how cheap “talk” is, right ? You can write and say all the things you want to achieve this year. But you’re still going to need lots of discipline and willpower to set those goals in motion.

According to science, it takes an average of 66 days for a human to form a new habit or behavior. Now, what is that one thing you want to achieve this year? Let’s break that into a few hours of consistent work, daily for the next 3 months. And see where it leads us.

It’s going to be hard, that’s for sure. Because these days, we have countless things around us fighting for our time and attention. From Twitter to Instagram to Youtube etc. But with constant focus and dedication, I believe you can nail those goals.

And at the end of the first quarter of the year, I’m quite sure you will like where you are in terms of growth as regards that goal. Which will give you more than enough motivation to keep going till you see it through to the end of the year.

And that’s all I have for you today guys. Have a wonderful, productive and self fulfilling year ahead.

xx
