My Review

Geez, Colleen Hoover now has me in a chokehold *lol*. Because this is my third book from those quarters after doing Ugly love and Verity which I absolutely loved and reviewed here.

But for this one I’m talking about today, I’d say this is my best book from her so far because it kind of kept me on edge. With all the good and mushy things happening right at the beginning, I just kind of kept holding my breath. And literally waiting for when it’s all going to start getting twisted and bad.

Because the whole situation happening at the beginning felt too good to be true. I was so invested in the love story between Ryle and Lily that I didn’t want it to go bad. I was literally rooting for that relationship big time. So much so that when the penny finally dropped, I just felt drained.

“It ends with us” is a triggering book about physical abuse and domestic violence in relationships. So if it’s a topic that is a bit sensitive for you, you might want to be careful while planning to read it. And although it was a little bit triggering for me, I loved the way the author described the characters. Letting you know them and understand why they are the way they are.

So much so that, at the end of the book, I felt a lot of sympathy for both the victim and the abuser. This quote in particular stood out for me:

All in all, “it ends with us” is a very enlightening book to read. And I absolutely recommend it. If you’ve read this, please kindly share your thoughts in the comments section. I would love to hear from you.
