Living a life full of regrets and what if

Life sometimes can be a story consisting of the internal battles of the “if only’s” and “what if’s”…..

If I knew then, what I know now, I would have made better choices. If I had been bold enough to make the first move, our love story would have started earlier. What if I hadn’t been too stubborn to apologize first, all these feelings of pain and heartbreak might have been avoided…

All of them invariably choices we chose to take without knowing what the outcomes of those choices will be. Because we as humans ultimately don’t have the ability to see into the future. Or even know for certain what’s going to happen this time tomorrow. All we have is this present time and past resources helping us make informed decisions for the future.

And even at that, we still sometimes lead ourselves in the wrong direction. Because we are humans and at the deepest root of our being is unpredictability. So everything ends up becoming a game of the 50’s.

Which is why it’s nearly impossible to live a life without regrets. Because life is for living. And regrets can be a testament to the fact that you actually lived, made mistakes and learnt from it.

So holding yourself back because you don’t know what the future has for you can also mean you holding yourself back from living. Because living, trying new things and exploring the different possibilities that can exist in a particular venture are all tenements of good living.

So what if…….. Who knows ? Nobody knows. So why not just delve in and find out for yourself.
