How to handle creative blocks

Is this what it feels like to experience writer’s block ? That feeling of not knowing / having no clue what to write or communicate like you used to. That drugged feeling you experience creative wise that makes your head feel zapped.

And also makes you feel like you have nothing worthy of note to share. That feeling is what I’m experiencing at the moment. And it makes me feel a little bit overwhelmed and uninspired.

But one thing I know, which I also always preach about is to let yourself feel and process things when you’re going through it. Rather than running away or ignoring it like it’s not happening. Which is what I’m doing today with this post.

And that is me allowing myself to be vulnerable and also letting you know that I’m human. And as a human, we all experience rough times. It’s me telling you that I’m not perfect and my life is not always perfect.

This is me leaning into what I’m feeling rather than shying away from it. Because life can happen to anybody. Nobody is immune. And it’s what you do after that matters.

How you handle whatever life throws at you.

Are you going to give up totally or take a short break

Are you going to quit totally or just go on a short break ? Are you going to give up on your dreams because you are not feeling very passionate at the moment. Or you’re going to take a short step back to reflect and realign yourself with your goals ?

Are you going to run away and hide in fear without acknowledging what you are going through ? Or you’re just going to pretend like everything is fine with you ? Before you make a choice. And stay rooted in it, I just want you to know that there is nothing bad in letting yourself feel your emotions.

Sinking yourself in it without ever trying to climb back out is what’s bad and extremely damaging.

Right now, I might be feeling a little bit slumped and uninspired with my writing. But the choice I’m making is to continue writing. While at the same time allowing myself to feel that emotion by communicating it with you.

And even if I do not know if I am going to be able to put down something coherent next week. What I have is now and this is what I’m choosing to do with it. Because I know for sure that I’m not always going to feel like this.

This is just a rough patch in my otherwise smooth journey. And I’m going to get over it soon and in no time.
